Han Guo's Blog

My name is Han Guo. I am a Buddhist monk. I became a monk at the age of 22 and have been a monk for 12 years now.

During the first two years after I became a monk, I studied in Xian South Buddhist Institute of Fu Jian Province. In 1997, I was admitted by China Buddhist Institute where I studied for three and half years.

In the spring of 2001, I was sent by the Chinese Buddhist Association to study in South Korea. Unfortunately, something happened to my eyes during my study there and it became so serious that I had to drop out of school and return to China in the summer of 2001 to treat my eyes.

From 2002 through 2005, I taught in Guangzhou Buddhist Institute. I came to the U. S. in December 2005. Now I am teaching Buddhist theory in a temple in New York City. I also write articles, using my computer, for Buddhist journals and keep myself abreast with the latest development of my field. I also use my computer skills to help my temple communicate with the outside world.

I enjoy my faith. I like to write articles. I enjoy my life here. To me, the world is full of sunshine now.
